Artemisia annua is a kind of traditional Chinese medicine, has many functions including anti-malaria,
anti-inflammatory and sterilization, anti-cancer, etc. It has been used widely in clinical medicine, and has a great market
in the world scope. As the market爷s growing demand for artemisinin-based drugs and lack of wild A. annua gradually, how
to get good quality and high-yield A. annua varieties, improve the artificial cultivation of A. annua biomass and artemisinin
content become a research focus. In this paper, the biological characteristic of A.annua, factors affecting plant biomass and
artemisinin content, cultivation techniques of high yield and high quality including its new advances were reviewed, in
order to provide a theoretical basis for its artificial cultivation |
