The use of molecular marker technology promotes the progress of development and innovation in aquaculture. At the molecular level, the technology profoundly expounds information from aquatic animals. This article described the kind, structure of mitochondrial molecular marker technology, and their application methods in various aspects in the aquaculture; discussed the research of mitochondrial molecular marker technology in origin and evolution,genetic and paternity testing, genetic distance and genetic diversity etc.; compared the difference of different mitochondrial molecular marker technologies, discussed the development prospect of the technology in aquaculture in the future. |
