The Journal has different requirements for the contents of natural science academic papers, social science academic papers and summary research reports. Social science academic papers are generally divided into introduction, research overview (theoretical analysis and hypothesis formulation, theoretical model), data sources and methods (research area and research methods), empirical analysis, conclusions and suggestions. The summary research report depends on the content, but it should at least include four parts. Each part needs to be analyzed and summarized into a secondary title. The style and requirements for natural science academic papers are described as follows:
(1) Introduction. It must be carried out in accordance with [Research significance], [Previous research progress], [Entry point of this research], [Key problems to be solved], and clearly marked; The number of words for this part should be more than 800. Through the introduction, readers can understand the basic situation of the research field and the relative level of the research done by the author at home and abroad.
(2) Materials and methods. The representative and specific names of test time, test locations, test materials and test conditions, test design, repeat times, important operation steps, sampling quantity and methods, statistical methods, and etc. must be clearly explained. If the test method is the same as that used by predecessors, only the references need to be listed, and the changes must be explained clearly; if it is a new method, it must be introduced in detail. There is no need to introduce some unimportant principles in this part and describe unnecessary details of the operation steps.
(3) Results and analysis. It should be concise, clear, and well-organized, mainly describing the main results of the study, including the basic data and the secondary or tertiary or quaternary data obtained from the statistical analysis of specific data. At the same time, it should make statistical analysis, and describe the information displayed after the statistics and analysis of data. In the results section, the research of others is not reviewed generally.
(4) Discussion. The discussion and conclusion should be separated into two independent parts. The discussion should focus on the innovation of the paper in close combination with the work of predecessors, and avoid the inference and generalization lacking of basis. It aims to compare the similarities and differences between the results of the study and those of previous studies, make comments, explain the reasons or mechanisms that can be clearly explained, further analyze and explain the reasons or inconsistencies that are not clear, and put forward suggestions on the direction of further in-depth research.
(5) Conclusion. The basic conclusions of the study should be summarized in an orderly manner, with prominent emphasis and clear views, rather than simple repetition of the results and summaries in each paragraph of the analysis. The conclusion is not a comment on the results of the study, and the critical language of “laying a foundation” and “providing guarantee” should be avoided. It should not completely repeat the conclusions in the abstract, but should be slightly detailed.
(6) Figures and tables. Necessary figures and tables shall be attached to the text (must be presented in a three-line table). It is prohibited to repeat the text. Figure (table) title, figure (table) sequence, notes, column header and first column, and all Chinese information in the figure shall be provided with English version. Figures and tables should be self-explanatory, that is, they can explain the problem through the title, data, image and annotation of the figures and tables. Notes, if any, on the chart shall be marked, and words such as “the same below” shall not be used. The significance level and method shall be marked in the annotation of the significance test results of the chart. Excel drawing must be provided with data source (copy in Excel and then “paste selectively” in Word) to facilitate modification in Word document. Data graphs do not require borders, shading, and gridlines. The maps related to China must be accurate. It is recommended to refer to “standard map” in the National Geographic Information Public Service Platform (https://www.tianditu.gov.cn/).
(7) Symbols for formulas and quantities. Symbols of quantities should be italicized. For symbols of formulas and quantities that can be directly input, in order to facilitate typesetting, please do not use the formula editor.
