1. Scope of associated data of papers and significance of data sharing

Paper-associated data refers to the data generated by basic research, applied research, and experimental opening to support the publication of academic papers, as well as the original data and derived data obtained by observation, detection, investigation, inspection and verification, and used to form paper charts and support the research conclusions of papers. The sharing of the related data of papers is an important evidence of the research results and conclusions of the papers, which can improve the verifiability and transparency of the research. The sharing of data can improve the attention and influence of scientific and technological journal papers, and the repeated use of data can save human and material resources and enables scientists to focus on innovative research. As a new type of academic achievement, paper data will promote innovation cooperation and talent cultivation among disciplines and promote open scientific practice.

2. Associated data sharing platform and form of paper of this Journal

Supported by the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, Guangdong Lingnan Characteristic Agricultural Science Data Center (hereinafter called “the Center”) is the only agricultural science data center in the province. According to the principle of “standardization and unification, co-construction and sharing, safety and controllability”, it gathers agricultural science data resources through integration, consolidation, introduction, exchange and other ways to provide public service support for Guangdong agricultural science and technology innovation.

This Journal advocates that the author of the paper shares the chart information in the paper to the Center. After the publication of the chart information of the paper, the Center will issue the author with the certificate of database (data set) inclusion. (Note: whether the author agrees to share the associated data of the paper is not a binding condition for the publication of the paper.)

3. Data reference format

The associated data of the paper should be respected and recognized as the the author’s intelligent achievements. Standardized data citation can enhance the influence of scientific data, and provide evidence for the research that cites the data. This journal provides normative data reference format for the associated data of the paper: <data author>, <data title>, <data release place>, <data release institution>, <data release time>, <doi identification code>.

4. Data submission process

(1) The author fills in and submits the Consent Form for Sharing Associated Data of Papers of Guangdong Agricultural Sciences (Appendix 1) and the Metadata Information Form of Associated Data of Papers, Guangdong Lingnan Characteristic Agricultural Science Data Center (Appendix 2);

(2) The Editorial Department shall submit the information of Appendix 2 to the Center for review after passing the preliminary review. The Center will publish the paper chart information and Annex 2 information (see Appendix 3 for example).

(3) “Guangdong Lingnan Characteristic Agricultural Science Data Center” issues the certificate of database (data set) to the author of the paper.
