Abstract: |
This project aimed to control the considerable damage of the sugarcane beetle and other soil pests as soon as possible, and to achieve sustainable control purposes, by using light trapping and low-toxicity pesticides, being the cooperation of production and scientific research. After two years in large-scale demonstration, the beetle damage has been effectively controlled. The results showed that the mean relative control effect of dead heart seedling caused by beetle was 76.75%~82.17%. The decline rates of beetle population density were 69.47% and 93.86%respectively. The proportion of the ratoon areas of the total harvested areas increased to 60.8% and 64.32% respectively. The average sugar cane yield, sucrose and sugar rates were increased in these two years. |
