Abstract:
The population genetic diversity and differentiation of the invasive species, Ambrosia artemisiifolia, in Guangdong were analyzed using ISSR. A total of 11 primers were used and 186 bands were amplified from 182 samples of the six populations. The percentage of polymorphic loci was 98.92%. Shannon's information index was 0.5288. Nei's index was 0.3540.The data suggested genetic diversity of Guangdong populations was high. Both GST (0.3263) and AMOVA showed a high differentiation among populations. The populations in the northern and eastern parts of Guangdong had close genetic similarity, but the southernmost population of Huadu had higher genetic differentiation from other populations. It is indicated that the southern population has developed higher genetic divergence with its expanding southward.
