In order to investigate the influences of weaning age on production of Lingao piglets, 120 piglets (1-day-old)with average initial weight of 0.73 (±0.029) kg and the similar genetic backgrounds were randomly divided into four treatments. Piglets were weaned at the age of 21 days(group Ⅰ), 28 days (group Ⅱ), 35 days (group Ⅲ), and 42 days (group Ⅳ). The experimental period lasted from the weaning age to the age of 60 days. The results showed that: 1)Weaning age weight, 60-d weight and average daily gain of group Ⅲ were significantly higher than those of group Ⅰand group Ⅱ(P<0.05) while feed/gain rate was significantly lower than those of group I and group Ⅱ (P<0.05 ), but there were no significant differences between group Ⅲ and Ⅳ(P>0.05). (2) At the weaning age, chest circumference and body height of group Ⅲ were markedly higher than those of group Ⅰ (P <0.05); At the age of 60 days, chest circumference and body length of group Ⅲ were markedly higher than those of other groups (P<0.05), and body height of group Ⅲ was also markedly higher than those of group Ⅰ and group Ⅱ (P<0.05). In conclusion, it suggested that Lingao piglets could be weaned at the age of 35 days. |
