This paper conducted study on the amendment of selected topsoil alternatives from the overburden in a surface coal mine,
and the improvement effect according to the response of physiological capability at alfalfa seedling stage was taken as the standard for evaluating the improved topsoil alternatives by peat. This paper took alfalfa as selected crop and used the deep soil as topsoil alternatives in a surface coal mine for pot experiment. This experiment adopted single-factor completely randomized experiment. There were four treatments for the soil improvement by peat 0, 10, 30, 50 g/kg soil. At the same time, original topsoil was taken as a control treatment. The growth and physiological indexes of alfalfa at its seedling stage were analyzed. The results showed that the peat had obvious influence on the indexes of leaf area, plant height, root length, biomass, content of chlorophyll, SOD activity, POD activity, CAT activity, soluble protein, cell membrane permeability and so on at alfalfa seedling stage. When the addition of peat for the topsoil alternatives was 50 g/kg, it could promote growth performance and stress resistance of alfalfa effectively at seedling stage, which showed that the soil improvement effect was good. |
