Abstract:
In order to get microalgal strains with high salinity tolerance, salinty acclimation was done with two newly isolated strains——Coelastrum reticulatum & Scenedesums sp. as starting materials. During the acclimation period, microalgal growth was monitored and variation of lipid content was tested. The results showed that the addition of seasalt enhanced the growth of microalgae, while the increase of salinty exerted negative influence on the lipid accumulation of microalgae at first, the lipid content increased gradually with the acclimation development. Strains with salinty tolerance (as high as 25‰, W/B) and relatively high lipid content were achieved finally. C.reticulatum and S. sp. were referred as saline tolerante strains.
