Abstract:
Nassophasis sp. adults had its particular feeding behavior. The adults preferred the petiole of the leaf and the apex of the stem, and ate the leaf from its back most. According to the bionomics and the symptom of Nassophasis sp., and the field management of Dendrobium Sw, some corresponding artificial control methods and prevention measures were put forward. Treatment before transplanting, monitoring and management after transplanting of Dendrobium seedlings should be strengthed. Artificial control methods should be taken at the peak period according to the specific damage symptom. To reduce the population base of Nassophasis sp., three or over three years old Dendrobium plants were suggested to be havested after the peak of laying (the end of January). Chemical pesticides should be sparying much more on the back of leaf and the apex of stem than other parts of the Dendrobium plants.
