Pollen germination and pollen tube growth are important physiological phenomenons in plant reproductive process. It is
essential for successful fertilization. This process involves a lot of signal pathways such as small G-Protein, phosphoinositide mediated signaling and Ca2+, etc. These signal pathways directly or indirectly affect every aspects of pollen germination and pollen tube growth process including the polarized growth of pollen tube and changes of cytoskeleton. This paper summarized the impact of the different signal pathways on pollen germination and pollen tube growth, focused on functional basis and principles of the signal moleculars,proposed the new mode of pollen germination and pollen tube growth. |
