The traditional morphological anatomical technique was applied to study the morphology of the nervous and digestive
systems of Octopus ocellatus. The results showed that the central nervous system (CNS) of O.ocellatus consisted of dorsal cerebral ganglion, ventral tandem visceral and pedal ganglions around the esophagus. The buccal ganglion, optic ganglion, gastric ganglion, gill ganglion, stellate ganglion and brain cable could be seen in the peripheral nervous system. The digestive system of O.ocellatus included the digestive tract and the digestive gland. The digestive tract consisted of bulbus oris, esophagus, craw, stomach, stomachic caecus, intestines, rectum, anus. The digestive gland consisted of a pair of anterior salivary glands, posterior ones and hepatopancreas. |
