Abstract:
19 microscopic structure characteristics of leaves from 7 arbor species was studied in this paper. The results showed that calcicole, amphoteric and calcifuge were easily distinguished from main composition analysis by the microscopic structure characteristics.Calcicole lacked waxy layer and corneous layer, and had lower value than calcifuge in several parameters, such as thicknesses of leaf, palisade tissue, central vein, upper and lower epidermis, total layers of cell, layers of padisade, spongy cell, height of padisade cell and maximum vessel diameter. Amphoteric plants had parameter value above between calcicole and calcifuge. Moreover, external Ca2+ could not remarkably change the parameter values of calcifuge. It was deduced that the microscopic structure characteristics of leaves in calcicole is the result of its long-term adaptation to calcicolous environment.
