Since the end of 2010, porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) outbreak in south China, characterized by high mortality rates. In order to get the information of porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV)infection in this region, we tested fecal samples from 60 farms by PED detection kit and RT-PCR assay. The results showed that all the farms had PEDV positive and average mortality rate was 76.87% in different farms; PED could occur year round, but it was high incidence in winter and spring; Inactivated vaccine immunization and back feeding method could effectively control the incidence and prevalence of porcine epidemic iarrhea disease in the certain extent. |
