In order to explore the effect of Chinese angelica and Codonopsis pilosula compound (2:1, powder) on laying performance and egg quality in laying hens, a total of 180 Roman laying hens for 34-week of age were divided into four groups, each group of three repeats and 15 laying hens per repeat, the level of compound angelica and codonopsis pilosula of the four groups were 0, 0.1%, 0.2% and 0.3%, the trial period was 13 weeks from 34 to 46 weeks of old. The results showed that angelica and codonopsis compounds of 0.1% to 0.2% could reduce the ingestion, but egg production performance had not declined; angelica and codonopsis compound had reduced the palatability of feedstuffs and egg shell quality; 0.3% of angelica and codonopsis compound could reduce the egg production performance and the anti-stress ability of laying hens had also declined; however, 0.2% of angelica and codonopsis compounds was better than 0.1% and 0.3% of angelica and codonopsis compounds. |
