A new concept in environmental landscape design is that of fragrant landscapes. These landscapes can give people unique olfactory sensations and produce various ecological and health effects through changing the urban environment. In this paper, we conducted an investigation of the wild aromatic plant resources in Zhaoqing and identified 212 species or varieties, belonging to 95 genera in 37 families. The geographical distribution of these species is relatively uniform, with five species that are unique to Zhaoqing. In terms of usage in landscaping, 29 species of ornamental aromatic plants are utilized based on three planting approaches. In this paper, we propose additional ideas for the creation of fragrant landscapes for both indoor and outdoor environments. |
