Abstract:
      Crop image capturing and analyzing based of wireless image sensor networks can make full use of the characteristics of real-time and large-scale to obtain the status of crop and to improve the agriculture management. However, due to various interference factors, image usually can not been transmitted stably in the field environment. From the empirical observation, we know that packet errors are influenced by environment condition, FEC-ARQ mechanism is designed to transmit crop images in wireless image sensor networks. FEC-ARQ mechanism appropriate error-correction code according to the status of wireless channel. Sender node encodes message into codeword and sends codeword to receiver through wireless channel. Due to various interference factors, some packets cannot be corrected because there are more error bits in the packets and the error-correction code is not strong enough to correct the damaged packets. In order to ensure the crop image quality, FEC- ARQ mechanism will retransmit the packets when it cannot correct the damaged packets. Simulation shows that FEC- ARQ mechanism can efficiently transmit crop images in the field environment and ensure crop images.
