In order to reveal the difference of foliage sulfur content of common road green trees in Puyang, 29 afforestation trees were selected in different roads and different seasons in 2011, and the sulfur content of leaves was compared. The results indicated that there is significant difference on the amount of foliage sulfur content for some tree species in different seasons, the foliage sulfur content of great majority trees were basically increasing with season changes of Spring,Summer and Autumn, except for Ligustrum lucidum Ait and Platycladus orientalis (Linn.) Franco. Tree species were assorted three classifications at the basis of foliage mean sulfur content, Populus tomentosa Carr and Sabina chinensis (Linn.) Ant were classified to the first category and sulfur content is higher, the second category includes Cedrus, Osmanthus fragrans, Platanus hispanica and ginkgo , Paulownia, Melia azedarach, Pyracantha fortuneana, Prunus ceraifera cv. Pissardii, Ulmus pumila, Albizia julibrissin Durazz, Salix babylonica, Ligustrum lucidum Ait, Populus alba, Cercis chinensis,Populus Canadensis, Platycladus orientalis (Linn.) Franco, Buxus sinica, Black Locust, Cedrus, Fraxinus chinensis, Magnolia grandiflora linn, Koelreuteria paniculata, Photinia serrulata, Pittosporum tobira, Papermulberry, Buxus megistophylla and Sophora japonica Linn. were classified to the third category and sulfur content is lower. |
