Abstract:
A pot experiment was established to evaluate the effects of Zn on growth sites and physiological indices of pakchoi under simulated acid rain. It was found that an increasing trend of Zn content accumulated in roots, stems and leaves of pakchoi was due to increasing amount of available Zn absorbed by roots of the pakchoi from soils with strength of simulated acid rain increasing. Furthermore, the higher acidity, the more amounts of Zn accumulated. The contributions of Zn accumulated in the roots and stems of pakchoi were influenced by pH value significantly. The results indicated that acid rain increased the risk of heavy metal Zn absorbed in the crops, especially the roots, which would be more serious for the safety of agricultural products in this polluted area.
