Abstract: |
Using Chinese yam Heimeiren as the experiment material, the effects of different sowing date, planting density and position of tuber on the growth and yield were studied in Hainan. The results showed that the emergence date was early and growth period was shorted with the delay of sowing date. Different sowing dates had a significant effect on the yield. The yield was the highest when the sowing date was January 5 th, with the average yield per plot 57.02 kg(2112.02 kg per 667 m2) and marketable percentage 88.74%. The optimum planting density was 1 900 plants per 667 m2 with the average yield per plot 56.92 kg (2 105.18 kg per 667 m2) and marketable percentage 87.93%. Upper and middle position of tuber should be selected as seeds, which could make seeds germinate ahead, improve rate of seedling and promote plants strong and even. The result could provide an important technical support to settle Chinese yam off-season from May to August in Hainan province. |
