Abstract: |
Xylene pollution caused by indoor decoration is becoming a serious environmental problem people care
more about. The effects of removing the xylene of 7 indoor ornamental plants were evaluated in this experiment by grown
in a xylene-fumigated and airtight glass vessel. Removal rates per unit leaf area and per unit leaf weight were calculated
and analyzed. The experiment results show and that a significant correlation had been found between removal rate and leaf
area, and Scindapsus aureus had the strongest removal capability based on per unit leaf area and could remove more than
30% of the xylene after 6 h treatement. Hedera helix had the strongest removal capability based on per unit leaf quality. |
