Abstract: |
A new type of fishing gear, the light falling-net, has rapid development in the South China Sea in recent
years. Sinking performances and shape of the nets in working are the important factors influencing fishing efficiency. This
paper summarized factors affecting the sinking performances of fishing gear, including leadline load, net material, hanging
ratio and ocean current, etc. Moreover, the studies on hydrodynamic coefficient and characteristics of mesh bar, and the
methods for establishing dynamic mathematical model of fishing gear have become another focus in this paper. By analyzing
the methods and results of longline, netting and purse seine concerning numerical simulation, a resistance formula featuring
light falling-net could be built, taking advantage of CN90 formula by Friedman and C0 formula by Matuda and plane netting
resistance coefficient of arbitrary attack angle by Tauti. It was suggested that the matrixing network and distributed
computing could be used to solve the formula of different mass points in order to obtain a stable calculation time-step in
numerical simulation. |
