Banana seedlings were hydroponically cultured to study the effects of exogenous Dimethylsulfoxide(DMSO)
application on cell membrane permeability, proline, soluble sugar, soluble protein and activities of super oxide dismutase
(SOD) in the leaves under PEG stress. The results showed that 10% PEG -6000 stress significantly increased the
malondialdehyde (MDA) content, cell membrane permeability, the content of proline, soluble sugar, soluble protein and
activity of SOD in the leaves of banana with improving the root activity. The treatments with different concentration DMSO
(0.1%~0.4%) debased lipid peroxidation and inhibited the MDA content, decreased root activity and the content of proline
and soluble protein. |
