      Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environment, Guangdong Academy of Agricultural Sciences/ Guangdong Key Laboratory of Nutrient Cycling and Farmland Conservation/Key Laboratory of Plant Nutrition and Fertilizer in South Region, Ministry of Agriculture, Guangzhou 510640, China Abstract: The effect of slurry on the yield, quality, and nutrition absorption of Chinese cabbage was determined. Results showed that the yield of Chinese cabbage was enhanced significantly when slurry applied. Compared to the chemical fertilizer treatment, the content of free amino acid increased, and the content of nitrate decreased for the activity of nitrate reductase enhanced. The content of N and the accumulation of NPKCa increased compared to the control. However, the agronomic nutrition use efficiency would decline with slurry application increasing.
