Abstract: |
The techniques including acute oral toxicity, long-term feeding (30 days) and genetic toxicity test were
employed to evaluate the safety performance of a wild vegetable A canthopanax trifoliatus. The results showed that the
median lethal dose (LD50) was more than 40 g/kg. Long-term feeding of the SD rats with A. trifoliatus for 30 days showed
no significant effect on the growth and blood biochemical indicators of the rats. Moreover, the pathology test result showed
that three dosages (13.34, 6.67, 3.34g/kg of A. trifoliatus in the feeding experiment couldnt induce any damage on the
spleen, liver and kidney of the rats. Even after the maximum dose(13.4 g/kg) treatment, the test results of Micronucleus test
of bone marrow cell and chromosome aberration in mice were all negative. |
