During 2011 to 2013, 500 Potamotrygon motoro were successfully reproduced and the survival rate was
more than 90%. 60 juveniles were chosen to study the growth characteristics of P. motoro under artificial farming condition.
The result showed that there was a linear relationship between body weight (W) and day age (t), and the regressive equation
was W =3.7641t-75.704, R2=0.9632; there was also a linear relationship between body length (L) and day age, and the
regressive equation was L=0.0536t+10.952, R2=0.9834; there was a power function relationship between body weight and
body length, and the relationship was W =0.0411L3.094, R2=0.9924. The power was close to 3, indicating that the growth of
weight was as fast as that of the body length of P. motoro, and the growth was isometric. |
