This study investigated the absorbability of Japanese permutite on water and soil polluted by heavy metals
under experimental and field conditions. The results showed that, the absorbing effect of Japanese permutite on cadmium
ion in water was very significant and the absorption rate was above 97% under experimental condition. Moreover, in the
same case, absorbing effects of Japanese permutite on heavy metals (Pb, Cr, Cu, Cd) in soil showed no relationship with pH
value, but were positively related to the input of Japanese permutite. On the other hand, under field conditions, the
absorbing effects of Japanese permutite on heavy metals (Pb, Cu, Cr) in soil were also very good and the absorbance was
positively related to the input of permutite. When the amount of permutite was 500 kg/667m2, the purification rates of the
Japanese permutite on Pb, Cu and Cr in soil were above 95.4%, 85.3% and 57.4%, respectively. |
