Abstract:
Phylogenetic and sequence analysis of Cytochrome Oxidase Subunit II gene (CO gene) were conducted to elucidate the relationships among 15 populations of 3 species Odontotermes from Hainan province. The results showed that the sequence identification of inter-species of Odontotermes ranged from 92.5% to 95.1%, and divergence ranged from 5.1% to 8.1%; while different populations of O. formosanus and O. hainanensis ranged from 97% to 99.9% and 98.4% to 100%, and divergence ranged from 0.1% to 3.0% and 0% to 1.6%. The sequence of Odontotermes sp. Yach shared 95.4% identification and closely genetic relationship with O. javanicus, a species from Japan. CO gene of genus Odontotermes showed high AT composition, which reached to 61.4%, and the main base variation was transversion .
