Mass selection was performed for constructing three generations (F3, F4 and F5) of Siniperca chuatsi, and the effect of selection was estimated in contrast to the control group. Results showed that the growth traits, including body weight, body length, total length and body height of the three generations were significantly higher than those of the control group. Compared with control group, the body weight of the three generations improved by 11.51%, 17.34% and 20.79%. The high positive phenotypic correlations were observed among the four growth traits of the three generations. Variation coefficient of body weight of the three generations were 18.17%, 16.37% and 14.86%,and variation coefficient of body length of the three generations were 11.29%, 9.47% and 8.12%, those were significantly lower than those of the control group. All these results showed that selection response of the three generations was remarkable, and the individual growth rate obviously improved and turned to be consistent in the selected population. It also indicated that there are still some selection potentials in F5 generation. |
