Abstract:
In this study, with torubam, local wild stab eggplant and red eggplant as rootstocks, ChangfengⅡ red eggplant and farmer eggplant as scion, the effects of different rootstocks grafting on the growth and phomopsis rot resistance of eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) were investigated. After the spring, summer and autumn of 3 trials, results showed that grafting could improve disease resistance to eggplant phomopsis rot, particularly significant in spring. In terms of growth, the harvest period could be extended, and the production increased by more than 12%.Resistance of eggplant grafted mainly depends on rootstocks, than the growth and production determined by the scion, so, the appropriate choice of rootstock and scion can improve disease resistance and increase production of eggplant(Solanum melongena L.).
