Abstract:
      In order to study the change rule of sucrose phosphate synthase (SPS) and invertase (INV) activities in different varieties and different parts of Helianthus tuberosus Linn under drought stress, the trials were carried out with two kinds of H. tuberosus including Qingyu1 and Qingyu2 through the way of PEG simulation with the water stress control. The results showed that: (1) the SPS activities in stems of Qingyu1 and Qingyu2 were higher than that of CK under 10% and 20% PEG stress, but lower that under 30% PEG stress, and the INV activities in stems were relatively low under different concentrations of PEG stress. The SPS activities in leaves were higher than that of CK and the INV activities were still low under different concentrations of PEG stress. (2) The SPS activities in stems and leaves of Qingyu1 and Qingyu2 were higher than those of CK at the early stage of different degrees water stress control. The INV activity of Qingyu1 was relatively low on the 35th day under moderate water stress control, which increased the sucrose synthesis, and the INV activity of Qingyu2 declined on the 7th day under different degrees of water stress control. So the appropriate intensity and duration of water stress control could improve the sucrose content in the stems and leaves of Qingyu1 and Qingyu2.
