In order to accurately monitor the tea tree water stress, the crop water stress index(CWSI) parameters of the Idso were applied as monitoring objects and an automatic tea water stress acquisition system was developed. By using the system, automatic monitoring for physiological parameters of tea tree water stress and physical environmental parameters of tea plantation could be achieved. Different sensor nodes were used to monitor the tea tree爷s canopy temperature, tea garden soil moisture and soil heat flux, net solar radiation, wind speed, air temperature, and humidity. Through the acquisition of the above parameters, combined with the CWSI model, the tea water stress index was calculated accurately. This index could be applied to guide irrigation and to avoid tea drought stress or excessive irrigation. The system takes full advantage of the convenience of wireless sensor network by using which the acquired parameters of each sensor node are wirelessly transmitted to a remote host computer node thruogh the multi-hop method. The acquired parameters can be either restored within the host computer or uploaded to a computer through serial port. The system can also be used to monitor other crop water stress after re-calibration. |
