Volvariella volvacea is a saprophytic edible fungus, which is first found in tropical and subtropical areas in China. This study focused on the comparison of biological characteristics of 17 strains of V. volvacea from different sources, the biological characteristics included days of primordium forming, days of fruit body harvest, biofilm thickness and biological efficiency. The results showed that days of primordium forming and days of fruit body harvest had no correlations with biological efficiency. However, the strains with less time of primordium forming and fruit body harvest would get high biological efficiency. The thicker the biofilm, the harder the fruit body opened up. The strain VV007 got the thinnest biofilm with 0.52 mm. The biological efficiencies among V. volvacea strains were significantly different and strain VV001 got the highest biological efficiency with 21.73%. |
