Abstract:
MaAQP1 belongs to the aquaporin family and responses to drought stress. The plant expression vector pCAMBIA1304-MaAQP1 was constructed and transferred into wild type Arabidopsis thaliana. The GUS gene showed that MaAQP1 was expressed in the roots of transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana. Two transgenic plants were double copy and single copy by Southern blot analysis for follow-up experiments. The higher survival rate and the increased levels of PRO,SOD,CAT were observed in transgenic Arabidopsis with containing the gene MaAQP1 compared with wild-type plants under drought stress, while the MDA was lower, which made Arabidopsis thaliana have tolerance to drought stress.
