Experiments of hot air drying were conducted to study the drying characteristics of Areca inflorescence under different temperatures. With the changes of water content, the drying curves and drying rate curves of A .inflorescence were made. Newton, Logarithmic and Wang and Singh models were applied to the experimental date.According to the results, the higher temperature, the quicker the drying, and the drying process was in the falling ratedrying period. Logarithmic model, which could well describe the changes of water content with drying time, gave the best results for explaining the drying characteristics of A. inflorescence. These results can provide a technical basis for controlling the drying process of A. inflorescence. |
