Study on the growth and photosynthetic characteristics of Phragmites australis under different management approaches were carried out by locating observation and indoor synthetic analysis. The results showed that different management approaches had different degree of influence on the growth of P. australis, the details were as follows: (1)There was strong correlation among the growth indicators of P. australis. Biomass, leaf-area, height and thick stem could represent complete information for P. australis, which meant that they could evaluate the growth of P. australis. Density increase was one of important symbols in P. communis community. (2) Fire could promote growth and development for P.australis in the spring before sprouting, because fire made soil to warm and to further thaw, those broke the dormancy of winter bud and germinated in finally. (3) It was good for growth of P. australis by harvest, because harvest would remove the surface of the litter so that there was more space to compete the water, fertilizer, gas, hot and the other resources for aboveground vegetation. (4) The variable coefficients of coverage, thick stem, leaf number, internode number and height were smaller, which showed they were stable, had low ecological plasticity, however, the variable coefficient of population density of P. australis was high, meant that it had high ecological plasticity. |
