Taking Chinese subspecific Fengningxiong sea-buckthorn (male parent), Mongolian Zautra Sarin(female parent) and their premium female offsprings as objects, the study compared the photosynthetic physiological characteristics and fruit yield among the parents and offsprings. The resucts showed that the daily curves about net photosynthetic rate (Pn), transpiration rate (E) and stomatal conductance (GS) of the parents and offsprings were unimodal, but the peak values emerged at different times. The offspring excelled its parents greatly in net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate and stomatal conductance, but the water utilization efficiency of the offspring was lower than that of its parents, which led to an inferior drought resistance ability. And the offspring yield was higher than the parents. Based on the drought resistance ability, it can be concluded that the hybrid is not the best improved breed, further selection and improvement is still expected. |
