| Animal husbandry leading enterprises play a key role in rural environmental protection, especially in livestock pollution. This paper analyzed the mechanism and the drives of enterprise voluntary environmental managements (VEMs) of DongJinNongMu company in Guang Dong province. The study showed that VEMs had significant advantages in controlling pollution from livestock and poultry breeding. Informal institutions, such as custom, moral, were important factors to guarantee the performance of pollution treatments. The research also showed that the enterprise' goal should
match the development target of local government; the breeding enterprises should be encouraged to make the voluntary environmental agreement and to take part in the events of improving rural environment. |
