Abstract:
      In order to find out the ideal bagging materials, Averrhoa carambola cultivar ‘Daguotianyangtao No.1’and Daguotianyangtao No.3’were treated with three different material fruits bags to study the effects of bagging on growth and quality. The results showed that all the bagging treatments could improve the appearance quality significantly and extend the fruit maturity in different degrees. Compared with other bagging materials, the quality of both cultivar’s fruits that treated with white paper bags was better. And compared with the control, the average fruit weight of ‘Daguotianyangtao No.1’and ‘Daguotianyangtao No.3’increased by 14.19 g, 29.12 g, and soluble solid content increased by 2.74%, 0.97%,fruit hardness increased by 0.48 kg/cm2, 0.09 kg/cm2, Vc content increased by 1.63 mg/100g, 1.88 mg/100g respectively.Besides that, the fruit transverse and longitudinal diameter increased, with the reduce of diseases and pests rate to 98.5%,99.5%, and titratable acid content to 0.034%, 0.036%. Base on the results, white paper bags are the ideal bagging materials in Nanning area.
