Abstract: |
The dynamics of food safety and quality are public regulation and market power. The relative importance of
them varies with institutional settings, economic environment and actor爷s features. Public regulation policy, industrial
characteristics (industrial arrangement, relationship pattern between upstream and downstream), firm attributes (size, mode
of production and trade) and demand preference distribution of consumers probably challenge food safety and quality. Those
dubious risks are frequently governed by external means like employing public totalitarian mode, improving diffusion
mechanism of safety and quality signal, advancing consumer爷s recognition and perfecting critical control point system of
industrial chain. The frontier of food safety and quality governance theory includes vertical integration of industrial chain,
production ability and cognition of safety and quality and combination of public regulation with private quality rules.
Finally this article comments explanatory power of existing literature as well as its dynamics. |
