Abstract:
      The fruit and vegetable products trade between China and CEE presents a stable growth in recent years. It is of great significance to develop the bilateral agricultural trade. This paper analyzed the competitiveness and complementarity of fruit and vegetable products between China and CEE countries in 2001-2012 by using relative trade advantage and overall bilateral complementarity. Results showed that Chinas processed fruit and vegetable products and vegetable had relative trade advantages, CEE only had weak comparative advantage in processed fruit and vegetable products. China competes with CEE on the whole, while its competitiveness and complementarity with each CEE country was different. Finally, this paper put forward corresponding policy recommendations, like focusing on market segmentation and explorling potential trade, taking the advantage of policy and grasping the strategic opportunity.
