Tissue specificities of malate dehydrogenase (MDH), esterase (EST) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH)were analyzed in livers and muscles from groupers yellow catfish and green catfish in Dongting Lake by verticalpolyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The results showed that there were significant differences in tissue specificity ofthe three isozymes in both colors. For the same tissue, however, there was no significant difference in enzymaticspectra of MDH between the two colors, the electrophoretograms of MDH were consisted of 5 bands in the liver, andthere were 4 bands in the muscles. Highest expression level and the most complex patterns of EST were observed inliver. The same tissue EST had different zymogram. The electrophoretograms of EST were consisted of 8 bands inyellow catfish; there were 4 bands in green catfish. The EST had specificity in different tissues. The LDH haddifferent isozymic belt in different tissues, there were 2 bands in live and 1 band in muscle of yellow catfish, andthere were 1 band in deferent tissues of green catfish. Some differences in EST and LDH were observed between thetwo groupers, which could be used as the species genetic markers. |
