A 14-3-3 gene, PvGF14h, was cloned from Phaseolus vulgaris L. based on the conservation of 14-3-3 protein and the genome sequence of common bean. Bioinformatics analysis indicated that the protein encoded byPvGF14h was characterized with alpha-helix predominant structure, typical 14-3-3 domain, phosphorylation sites, and localized at cytoplasm and peroxisome. Sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis showed that PvGF14h hadthe highest homology with SGF14h from soybean, and the identity was up to 98.1%. Furthermore, real-time PCRanalysis was conducted to examine its expression pattern in response to cold stress. The result showed that thetranscriptional level was promoted by cold treatment, suggesting that PvGF14h might be involved in the signalingtransduction during cold stress. The findings provided some preliminary and important information about the 14-3-3in common bean, which would facilitate to develop further study for understanding its functions, especially inresponse to cold stres |
