Abstract:
Completely randomized block design was applied in the experiment, two maize varieties Guidan 0810, P619 were used as test materials, maize yield and its component factors were investigated and measured under the combinations of different planting densities (45000, 52500, 60000, 67500 plants/hm2) and two chemical control agents (Qixiannv, Yuxi, water as the CK). The results showed that variety, chemical control and planting density all had significant effects on yield and agronomic traits, but the interaction among the three factors was not significant. The yield of maize increased and then decreased with the increase of planting density in the application of chemical control agents. Chemical control agent in a certain extent improved the 100-grain weight, and the 100-grain weight showed a little variation with the increase of planting density. Different chemical control treatments significantly reduced the plant height and spike height, and decreased the plant lodging rate. Therefore, suitable high density cooperated with chemical control agent was the preferred way to get high maize yield. Chemical control agent in a certain extent reduced the effect of high density on lodging rate of maize. Application of chemical control agent could significantly reduce the plant height, spike height, increase stem diameter and the 100-grain weight, and Yuxi had a significant regulatory role in the plant height and ear height, and effectively reduced the lodging rate.
