Abstract: |
To better understand the growth of Eucalyptus on the land of different grades of rocky desertification in
karst region, and explore the method for the revegetation in karst rocky desertification land, two grades(S1:moderate
desertification,S2:severe desertification)of rocky desertification land in Northwest Guangxi were selected for planting
Eucalyptus. On the desertification land, the planting bank was built by brick, new soil from other site was filled in the
bank before planting tree. The survival rate and growth of Eucalyptus were investigated in the 4th year of forestation. The
results showed that,The survival rates of Eucalyptus in land S1 and S2 were 29.5% and 21.5%,respectively,the former
was 1.37 times of the latter. The average diameter at breast height(DBH),average height, stock volume of Eucalyptus
in S1 and S2 were 9.01 and 6.72 cm,8.41 and 6.43 m,17.65 and 5.95 m3/hm2,respectively,the former were 1.34,1.31 and
2.97 times of the latter, respectively. Bedrock bare rates in S1 and S2 were 4.17% and 14.11%. The results indicated that,
the suruival rate and grouth index of Eucalyptus in severe rocky desertification were significantly lower than those in the
moderate rocky desertification environment. At the same time,by treatment, the grade of rocky desertification decreased
to low-grade. |
