Abstract: |
In order to study the agricultural trade cost level,change trend and influence factors between China
and the five central Asian countries,the Novy trade cost model was used to measure the agricultural trade cost
between China and the five central Asian countries from 1993 to 2012. Results showed that agricultural trade cost
between China and the five central Asian countries showed a trend of lower volatility,but the drop rate was less than
that of other products. From the perspective of absolute value of bilateral trade cost,the average cost of agricultural
products trade between China and Kazakhstan was the lowest;from the view of trade cost decline,the biggest drop of
bilateral agricultural products trade cost with China among five countries belonged to Uzbekistan. By analyzing natural
factors,trade policy,infrastructure and service,we found that the trade policy,infrastructure and services,especially
the development of export financing services could greatly weaken the adverse impact of natural factors on trade;
the trade policy of non-tariff measures has replaced the tariff barriers to become the important obstacles affecting
agricultural trade cost reduction. |
