Abstract:
This study explored the vacuolization morphological variation of aleurone cells in germinating rice(Oryzasativa L.)varieties‘ II 128’ seeds during the process of PCD,and revealed the effect of vacuolization on the progress ofPCD,by using confocal laser scanning microscopy and fluorescent labeling. The results showed that the morphologicalstructure of vacuole changed a lot in the PCD of aleurone layers, the initial small protein-storage merging to a largevacuole, finally vacuoles brokening and disappearing. The vacuolization was a remarkable feature of PCD in aleuronelayers. And its process would directly affect the PCD process of aleurone layer. Therefore, the inhibited vacuoles fusiondelayed the course of aleurone layers PCD,thus affecting the germination of rice seeds.
