| Abstract: |
| To effectively solve the dispute in land conversion and protect farmers’ interests，this paper discusses thecharacters of land conversion and its dispute in rural China and analyses their harm to farmer’ interests based on a surveyin Jiangsu，Jilin and Sichuan provinces. Results show that low compensation，imperfect grant and lacking settlementchannel easily lead to the dispute. And policy implications are finally provided from the perspectives of improvement ofland compensation mechanism，construction of unified market of non-agricultural land and establishment of diversifiedmechanism for land dispute settlement. |
