The total factor input-output efficiencies of japonica rice production in our country were deduced by
analyzing the output-input panel data (2001-2012) of 12 provinces of japonica rice main production areas. The
results showed that, from 2001 to 2012, the average rate of growth of the total factor productivity (TFP) was -2.3%
and the technological progress was -2.2%. The decline of technical progress was the main cause of the decrease of
TFP. Moreover, distinctions existed among the TFPs of these provinces, while the TFPs of Heilongjiang and Jiangsu
Provinces were higher than that of other provinces. Further convergence test indicated that the TFP of main
production areas had convergence trend. |
