To study the effects of huanglongbing (HLB) on Newhall Naval Orange (Citrus sinensis Osbeck
耶Newhall爷), fruit quality differences between healthy Newhall Naval Orange and HLB infected Newhall Naval Orange
were compared. All the fruits came from the same orchard in Ganzhou city of Jiangxi province. The parameters
including weight, fruit shape index, peel thickness, firmness, fruit total soluble solids (TSS), titratable acid (TA)
content, Vc content, juice rate, fruit color, etc. Of healthy and HLB infected Newhall Naval Orange were evaluated.
Results showed that significant differences on fruit quality were presented between healthy and HLB infected Newhall
Naval Orange in the same orchard. Compared with healthy fruits, the size of infected fruits decreased, peels became
thicker, firmness increased, while the contents of TSS, TA, Vc significantly decreased. There was also significant
differences between the healthy and HLB infected Newhall Naval Orange in fruit coloring. |
